I feel privileged to be the Nursery Manager of our wonderful Jewellery Quarter setting at Bright Minds Daycare. I have always been passionate about early years and have over 14 years’ experience in the sector.
I began my journey in early years after qualifying as a Level 3 practitioner, and subsequently went to university to further my learning where I successfully completed my BA honours in Early Childhood Studies and Education. After qualifying, I started as a Baby Room Practitioner and within a year was promoted to Toddler Room Leader before becoming Team Co-ordinator; responsible for ensuring that service users were accessing outstanding learning opportunities and experience within the nursery setting. This role involved working in close partnership with parents and carers to support their journey into parenthood, this included providing parenting classes such as behaviour management, breast-feeding, understanding your baby, how to support your 2 year and transitions/school readiness. Whilst in my role as Team Co-ordinator, I made the decision to return to university part-time and completed my post graduate degree in Integrated Leadership and Management in Early Years. This early experience provided me a with a strong foundation and platform from which to build my hands-on approach to nursery management and was the catalyst to managing a number children’s centres prior to joining Bright Minds Daycare.
As a mum of 2 young boys, I am dedicated to creating a safe and secure environment that stimulates development; I inspire to create confident young children who have access to meaningful learning opportunities that help form and prepare them for the future.
